What Does it Mean
Strange reports have reached us today from our Arctic Regions describing thousands of missile launches from both Russian and American military forces, and from both land based and aircraft launched these missiles that are being directed out of the earth�s atmosphere into the outer space regions of our planets atmosphere.
From various news services however there is being reported that Russia and the United States are conducting Missile Defense Wargames, and as we can read as reported by the Moscow Times News Service in their article titled 'Russia, U.S. Launch Joint Missile Defence Wargames', and which says, 'Russia and the United States have begun joint missile defence wargames aimed at protecting vital installations in a third country in the course of future international operations, a Russian Defence Ministry release said Monday. The wargames will last until April 23.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the 4th Central Research Institute of the Ministry in Moscow is hosting the joint theater-wide ballistic missile defence (BMD) command-post exercise (CPX).'
The strangeness to these missile launches is further compounded by the reporting of these events as being a part of defense wargame between Russia and the United States, and of which no one has had any prior knowledge of. Neither was there any announcement to the Russian peoples by the Defense Ministry prior to these launches, only afterwards when reports began to be received from these Arctic Regions has the Defense Ministry issued these reports of wargames.
These reports are also coming at a time that the earth�s atmosphere is continuing to be bombarded by unknown cosmic blasts...."

Fiesta Week in San Antonio
Battle of Flowers Parade in San Antonio. This parade is celebrated every year on the Friday before Fiesta Week ends. 
Here we see The Bexar County Sheriffs mounted Posse. These are some scary dudes.
The Lackland Air Force Base float.
Each of these Dresses costs thousands of dollars and are worn by some of the most beautiful women in Texas for the Battle of Flowers Parade.
Here's where the party really rolls. Markets Square on the West side of Downtown. Live music, fresh tex-mex food and beer beer beer.
"Show us your Shoes!" is frequent call to the lovely ladies on the floats.

Spurs Blow Game 1 to Denver, 87-93
Well, my Freaky Darlings, Fiesta Week in San Antonio is most definatly finished and if we needed a sign that the party is truly over all we had to do was watch our Spurs poor performance in game one of the first round of NBA playoffs at the SBC center.
This dispelles any hopes that San Antonio would breeze their way over the Nuggets and into the second round. Lacking their usual sense of energy and authority the Spurs played tonights game as though they were still sitting pretty as the Wests top seed two months ago without a care in the world. Unless there is some serious overhauling of the Spurs defense and imrove on their shooting this might be a short post season for San Antonio.

That's it for Julian. Castro has cashed his check and with the elections starting today he hasn't a chance for a recovery from this sort of childish crap. I for one think enough is enough when it comes to having a young mayor.
Ed Garza seems to have done his best to screw us over here and Julian Castro has shown once and for all the stuff he's made of. With Fiesta Week going on here there's nothing he can do now but head down to Market Square and party with the rest of us because that's about as close to City Hall as he's going to get.

HABEMUS PAPAM
Not one hour ago white smoke was sighted from the chimney above the Sistine Chapel signaling to the world that a new pope has been elected. Amid a flurry of confusion the throngs of faithful hurried to St. Peters Square but all questions were dispelled when the bells of the Basilica began to ring.
The first sight of the new Pontif on the balcony brought cheers from every corner of the square and of the world as Catholics everywhere rejoiced at the election of Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger as the 250th pope, who has taken the name Benedict XVI.

Almost a week after his death at age 84, Pope John Paul II was laid to rest today in Vatican City. The funeral was attended by hundreds of dignitaries and millions of people. It was viewed on television in several countries and preliminary estimates put the figure of viewers in the area of 2 billion people, making this event the most widely watched in history.
It was a moving ceremony, filled with the rich and colorful heritage of the Catholic Church. With the crowds in Vatican City waving flags from all over the world, televison cameras captured every moment of it. The mass was officiated by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, a close friend and adviser to the late Pontiff. His Homily ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7427983/) was both moving and intelligent, with a deep message to the worlds 1.1 billion Roman Catholics, as well as to the the rest of the world.
This was a man of peace and love. Someone who strove in his life to fight evil and bring the world closer together. Through his efforts the scourge of Communism in Russia and Eastern Europe was defeated. This was a man whose legacy will last for decades to come. We should all be thankful for having had him in our world.

It seems that people are really taking The Lowy Institute for International Policys poll seriously. The Anti-Bush crowd as well as Islamic pundits are chortling with mirth and glee over thier findings that most (57%) Australians find that the Bush Administrations foreign policy is as much of a threat as Islamic fundamentalism. People have been quick to point to the American Presidents low popularity rating as a key factor as to why most Australians polled placed the U.S. close to the bottom of their list of favored allies. But most amazingly, all this is being said and re-said as though Americans actually care what they think.
They want to "thumb-the-nose at authority"? Perhaps they should start with taking the matter up with Great Britain, to whom they still owe Ultimate Alliegiance, and stop taking out their collective national frustration at having a total lack of global authorty on those who do.
The Poll states they feel they should not be in Iraq? Very well, then recall their massive force of 300 troops. I'm sure the United States will muddle along somehow.

Cardinals Head for Rome
It doesn't look good for the future of this Papacy. It is almost certain now that the Holy Father is about to die and the Church is gathering together her Princes for the impending transition. Now all we can do is wait. For hours now I have been watching the Window on the various news channels. Outside in the Square people have gathered from all around the planet to pray for his soul and his health.
Pope John Paul II's journey is coming to a close and we are faced with the end of an era. Already the world is preparing for the election of a new pope a the funeral for this one. How does the world say good-bye to a leader such as this?
In my years I have heard many people talk who have nothing but ire and rancor toward the Catholic Faith. People, many of whom are fallen away from the Church themselves, that have only negitive things to say about the Papacy and the Roman Catholic Church, talk, ad nausium, about their some fancifal imagery and a love of art as though it were on the same level as a cult, or some kind of paganistic pseudo-religion.
2000 years of heritage and faith, however, stand on the brink of proving these people fools. Mark my words: The Popes Funeral will include people of every faith. Kings, queens, presidents and the throngs of faithful which will decend on the Eternal City will show these people that there is still fire, yet, in the old ways. It won't shut them up but then nothing really ever will. At least it will show that for every one of them there are ten of us and that, regardless of what charges they levy on us, we will abide.

World Waits for Word on Holy Father
After months of health problems Pope John Paul II lays on his death bed and the world waits for word from the Holy City on the condition of the ailing pontiff. At 84 years old he has held the 3rd longest reign over the worlds estimated one billion Catholics. He has travelled the equiviland distance from the earth to the moon 7 times. He has been seen in person by more people than any other person in History.
What words can be used to describe such a figure? What can be said about the magnitude of this mans life? Words fail. His is a legacy for the ages and his lifes work will resound for decades to come.
